Fall Fee Options (12 week session):

12 drop-ins - $175.00
Unlimited Swims - $265.00

The drop-in option is the equivalent of 1 swim a week.  We call it a drop-in so that if you miss a week or out of town etc. you can use those swims however you'd like in that 12 week period**.   Unlimited swims are just that - swim as much as you'd like in that 12 week session.

Here's a break-down of what each swim practice costs, based on how much you want to swim, at the package you chose:

Payment Information:

We would kindly ask that you bring payment on your first swim. Payments can be made out to the Ottawa Centre Masters. We accept cheques, money orders, or cash. All board members will be present to give you your registration package, and collect your payment on the first practice you swim. We can also provide a receipt if required.

Please remember to include the annual $35 registration fee in your first payment - Registration fee payment is required for all members as we are an official Canadian Masters Swimming Club.

The First Swim Practice on Monday September 12th:

We would ask that you arrive 15-20 minutes early on the first day you swim in order to have time to get your payment, and your registration forms.

A coach will be giving everyone a run down on coaching plans for the year, your expectations/hopes for your participation and membership in the club. In addition he will go over the lane rules, and provide advice on stretching etc. Of course you will be able to ask questions about the coaching and the lanes/swimmers.

If you have any questions on how to register/join or anything questions about the club in general - please consult the FAQ section of the blog on the right hand side of the page or or email us at ottawacentremasters@gmail.com.

* the free trail swim is for people who have never been an OCM club member in the past. The free trail is for potential new members to see if they like the club before fully committing to a 12 week session.
** any remaining swims during that 12 week session are not transferable to another session.

What makes OCM Different? Underwater Video Anaylsis!

Why Choose OCM?

We pride ourselves on being the small club with a big heart.

At OCM not only will you get fantastic coaching and one on one technique help from one of our three experienced coaches but you'll join a club that is friendly and fun. OCM is small, which mean you get more attention from our coaches.

Just how much attention? Coach Alvaro will film and then analyze your stroke. Breaking down step-by-step just what is going on underwater. He'll also do a side-by-side with an elite swimmer to show you what you should be aiming for.

Only swimmers who want this video analysis will be filmed, and Alvaro will meet with you to show you your video on a tablet right at the pool! You can also get the video on a memory stick so you can take it home to view on your on time (over and over if you wish).

Here are a few screen caps of what you'll see.

OCM Coaches

We at Ottawa Centre Masters are very lucky to have not one but two amazing coaches. Each brings a different style to their coaching and both have years of experience and dedication to the sport!

Meet OCM's coaches.

Aaron:

Aaron has over 25 years of coaching experience. He comes from out west with an impressive swim coach resume which includes former Head Coach of Island Swimming in Victoria, and Former Associate Coach Victoria High Performance Swim Center (Victoria). Aaron’s coaching has earned him multiple awards including Male Youth Coach of the Year’s awards from 2011 – 2012.

In addition to being a former competitive swimmer, he has experience coaching, and developing programs for Masters Swimming Clubs, and has worked with triathletes and long distance open water swimmers. He holds a current Level 4 NCCP certification.

Now a local business owner (Not Your Father’s Barber on Murray Street), father of two and one senior dog Aaron is looking forward to helping OCM swimmers meet their potential in the water.

Alvaro:

Alvaro has been involved with swimming for over 25 years (ouch!). He started swimming when he was 6 years old, continued through high school, college and now Masters. Alvaro also has experience in open water swimming, either in Half Iron Man triathlons or long distance Open Water races.

Definitely a swim enthusiast!

How bad? The kind who likes to watch the preliminary rounds of the 1500m races in the Olympic games and gets annoyed when TV commercials/shows/movies have scenes of actors swimming with awful technique!

He is currently in the final stages of completing my coaching certification.
